The Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium, His Eminence Dr. Solomon Etuk, is also the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of the Supreme Council of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers. Its wards include Ibiakpan Obotim I and Ibiakpan Obotim II.

A model primary health centre at Ikot Ekwere Ubium is completed, and a general hospital is under construction at Ikot Ekpene Udo. There is also a model primary school, a primary school renovation and a model secondary school, where work is ongoing. There are twenty-seven compassionate homes for vulnerable families. A solar water facility at Ikot Ekpene Udo is meant to cut the time women and children spend fetching water.
The Ibom Model Farm is the largest single investment in Nsit Ubium. It combines farming with training, lodging and visitor facilities. There were 68 farmers, 154 traders and 70 equipment support beneficiaries, plus two small business grants of N5 million each. The roads are expected to make trade faster.
There are eight road items, with lengths from 2.483km to 14.28km and two bridges of 60 and 120 metres. They link Ikot Ekpene Udo with Ikot Imo, Okon Eket, Ofriyo, Odot and nearby villages, and connect Nsit Ubium with Nsit Atai and Eket. Only the Ikot Ubo - Odot road is described as completed, and work on the 9.8km Ikot Akpan - Atan road is ongoing. A Police Counter Terrorism Unit base is under construction.
