Construction of a farm with training and visitor facilities. The buildings on the site include a multi-purpose hall, hotel, canteen and clinic, classroom building, male and female dormitories, conference hall, farm office, sales point, a 20-room residence and three VIP bungalows. The farm joins farming, education and tourism to give young people skills and income. The site has a gate, fish ponds, planted plots and long farm buildings.

About the project
The Ibom Model Farm is a 50-hectare integrated farm at Ikot Edibon, along Enen Nsit Road in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is also known as the Ibom Integrated Farm, the ARISE Farm and Songhai Farms. It is modelled on the Songhai Farms of Porto-Novo in Benin Republic and is being developed with the Songhai Initiative.
Governor Pastor Umo Eno flagged off construction in 2023 as part of the agriculture plank of his ARISE Agenda. The site was chosen because Nsit Ubium was the first local government area to donate land for the farm with a customary certificate of occupancy. The state government is funding the project and work is ongoing. In 2026 the state engaged Akwa Ibom State University to run the farm day to day, with the Ministry of Agriculture keeping a supervisory role.
The site holds many buildings. They include a multi-purpose hall with power house and store, a hotel, a canteen and clinic, a classroom building, male and female dormitories, a conference hall, a farm office, a sales point, a 20-room residence and three 3-bedroom VIP bungalows. There are also fish ponds, planted plots and long farm buildings. A separate project is building 7.507km of internal roads inside the farm.
The farm joins food production, training and tourism in one place. It is expected to create jobs, train young farmers and bring modern farming methods to rural Akwa Ibom. It is also meant to serve as the pattern for similar farms planned for the Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial Districts.
