About the project

The ARISE Farmers Grant is a cash grant from the Akwa Ibom State Government to farmers. In Ukanafun Local Government Area, 94 farmers received grants worth 57,000,000 naira in total.

The grants were presented by Governor Pastor Umo Eno at the ARISE Town Square Meeting for Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, held at QIC Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, in April 2025. Across the whole federal constituency, 116 farmers received the farmers grant at that meeting. In all, 404 people in the constituency received farmers, traders, equipment and MSME support that day.

The money is meant to help farming households pay for seeds, tools, fertiliser and farm labour.

The grant is expected to raise farm output, protect household food supply and put more money into local markets in Ukanafun, where farming is the main source of livelihood. It is part of the support for agriculture and small enterprise under the ARISE Agenda.

For families and communities

The grant helps farming families keep working their land and feed their households. Farmers have received direct support that strengthens their livelihoods.

For work and income

Money in the hands of farmers can go into seeds, tools and labour, and so into more produce for local markets. Grants like this are stimulating local economic activity.
