About Ukanafun

There are 78 gazetted villages spread across 12 political wards. The area is mostly rural.

Farming is the base of the local economy. People also earn a living from trading, education, small businesses and other small enterprises. The location of Ukanafun matters for farming, trade and the movement of people and goods between communities in Akwa Ibom and neighbouring areas.

Notable places include the Ukanafun General Hospital and the Blue River in Ward 2, which is planned as a place for visitors.

For work and income

In total 94 farmers received grants worth N57,000,000 and 89 traders received grants worth N47,000,000.
