About the project

The Model Health Centre at Ikot Udo Mbang is a planned primary health facility in Ukanafun Local Government Area. Ikot Udo Mbang is a village community in Ukanafun.

The health centre has been approved by the Akwa Ibom State Government but building work has not yet started. No contractor or start date has been announced.

When built, the centre is meant to give residents of Ikot Udo Mbang and nearby villages basic health care close to home. It is expected to serve mothers and children, older people and families who now travel for routine care. Serious cases would still go to the General Hospital.

A health centre in the community is also expected to save families the cost of travelling for routine care. The project fits the good health goals of the ARISE Agenda.
