About the project
The ARISE Model Primary Health Centre at Use Ndon is a new health facility being built in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area. It is one of the model primary health centres the Akwa Ibom State Government is building in local government areas across the state under Governor Umo Eno.
Work on the centre is ongoing.
The model centres are designed to bring good basic and emergency care closer to rural people. Each one is planned with consulting rooms, a theatre, wards, a laboratory, an ICT and records unit, a kitchen, and quarters for doctors, matrons and nurses. They run on solar power with a standby generator and come with a full set of medical equipment.
When finished, the centre is expected to serve Use Ndon and nearby communities and cut the distance people travel for treatment. It is part of the health pillar of the ARISE Agenda.
