About the project
The Model Primary Health Centre at Ikot Ekwere Ubium is a new primary health care facility in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is one of the model health centres the state government is building across its local government areas.
The centre was built by the Akwa Ibom State Government. The finished building stands in a fenced compound with a paved yard. It is described as well equipped, with facilities that compare well with some secondary health centres.
The centre is meant to bring basic health services closer to people in Ikot Ekwere and nearby communities, so fewer people need to travel far for everyday care. It is part of the health plank of the ARISE Agenda.
Governor Pastor Umo Eno commissioned the centre in May 2025, on the same visit at which he opened the 14.28km Ikot Ubo - Odot Road.
