About the programme
The ARISE grants and equipment support scheme gives cash grants and working tools to farmers, traders and small businesses in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is part of the human capital development and economic empowerment work of the ARISE Agenda under Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
In Nsit Ubium, 68 people received the ARISE Farmers Grant and 154 received the ARISE Traders Grant. Another 70 received tools and equipment under the ARISE Equipment Support Scheme. Two businesses received the ARISE MSMEs Grant of N5 million each.
The scheme also provided vehicles. Two people received minibuses and one received a car.
The grants and equipment are meant to help people expand their farms, restock their shops and grow their businesses. This is expected to raise household incomes, create jobs and keep more money moving in local markets in Nsit Ubium.
