About the project
This project is the provision of a solar-powered water facility at Ikot Ekpene Udo in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The facility uses solar power, so it does not depend on the public power supply or on fuel for a generator.
Clean water close to home is meant to ease the daily work of fetching water, which falls mostly on women and children. It is also expected to lower the risk of water-borne illness.
Ikot Ekpene Udo is also the site of a new general hospital, a model primary school and internal roads. The project fits the ARISE Agenda aim of improving basic services in rural communities.
