About the project

This project is a 7.507-kilometre network of internal roads inside the Ibom Model Farm at Ikot Edibon in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is separate from the farm buildings.

The roads are funded by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno and built by Amitec Construction and Development Ltd. They include a two-lane farm road with a planted median, concrete drains and a rigid concrete base finished with asphalt.

In 2026 the work reached its final phase. Earthworks, drains and the concrete base were complete, and asphalt surfacing had passed 90 percent. A commissioning date has not been announced.

The roads are meant to let tractors, staff and produce move easily around the 50-hectare farm. This is expected to support large-scale mechanised farming and the state's food security drive under the ARISE Agenda.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The roads are meant to let workers, trainees and visitors move safely between the ponds, plots, classrooms and lodging on a large site.

For work and income

Internal roads let produce, feed and equipment move around the farm in all weather, which supports the farm's work and its sales point.
