About the project

This project is the network of internal roads in Ikot Ekpene Udo, the home community of Governor Pastor Umo Eno in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Phase I covers 5.82 kilometres, and Phases I and II together cover 9.72 kilometres.

The roads are funded by the Akwa Ibom State Government and built by Amitec Construction and Development Ltd. The package includes roads at Ata Essien, Ikot Udo Obok, Enen Akpan, Ikot Ibiok, Ndueso Crescent, Ikot Akpabin, Atung Essien and other streets. Besides asphalt, the work includes concrete drains, road shoulders, kerbs, walkways and solar street lights.

By September 2026 the roads were reported 100 percent complete and were listed for commissioning among the state's 39th anniversary projects. A commissioning date has not been confirmed.

The roads have eased movement within the community, reduced flooding and made night travel safer. They are expected to support local trade and link homes to the new hospital, school and other projects in the area.
