About the project

This is the official residence being built for the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, at Ikot Ebido in Oku, Uyo. Ikot Ebido community donated the land.

It is part of a programme by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno to build official residences for the chairmen of all 31 Local Government Councils, so that council heads live within the areas they lead.

The Governor, represented by the Dean of Commissioners, Hon. Frank Archibong, laid the foundation in early 2026. The plan is a smart residence with a five-bedroom building, a 100-capacity meeting hall and boys' quarters. Work is ongoing.

The residence is expected to bring council leadership closer to the people of Uyo and make the chairman easier to reach.
