About the project

This project built 1.4 kilometres of internal roads at the Akwa Ibom State Police Command Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, in Uyo Local Government Area. The Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno paid for the work, and U&K Limited was the contractor.

The work covered durable access roads within the command premises, six culverts and proper drains to carry away rain water and keep the roads stable over time.

Governor Eno inaugurated the roads in December 2025. At the event he promised to install lighting at police stations across the state. The Commissioner of Police described the roads as strategic assets that would improve movement, response time and the overall work of the command.

The roads are meant to give officers a safer and more functional place to work and help them respond faster to calls. The project is part of the state's wider support to security agencies, which also includes patrol vehicles and gunboats, in line with the ARISE Agenda.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

Sound roads inside the headquarters let patrol vehicles leave quickly when called. People who come to report matters or seek help can also move around the compound more easily.

For work and income

Drains and culverts protect the roads and buildings from water damage, which reduces repair costs. Rehabilitated roads have improved access to government institutions.
