About the project

This project covers two public administration buildings in Uyo: a new building for the Akwa Ibom Geographic Information Service (AkwaGIS) and an annex to the Governor's Office. Both are being built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno.

AkwaGIS is the state agency in charge of land records, title documents and mapping. The new building is meant to give it a proper home for its records and staff.

The Governor's Office Annex will add office space for the Governor's Office and its departments.

When complete, the AkwaGIS building is expected to improve land administration, planning and access to property information, while the annex is meant to ease crowding in government offices. Both buildings were listed among the projects lined up for commissioning by President Bola Tinubu during the state's 39th anniversary in September 2026.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

Clear land records can reduce disputes over who owns what. The office is meant to make property information easier for the public to get.

For work and income

Reliable land records help people buy, sell and build with confidence, and can help owners use property to secure loans. Better planning also guides where roads and services go.
