About the project

IBC House and Studios is a broadcasting building and studio complex under construction in Uyo for the Akwa Ibom State Government.

It is part of Governor Pastor Umo Eno's plan to modernise state broadcasting. The state-owned broadcaster, set up in 1988, had worked for years without modern equipment or a proper corporate office. The Governor signed an agreement with Media Guru Consultant LLC of Dubai to design, buy and install new broadcast equipment, and announced a new digital broadcast station.

The new house is meant to give the station modern studios and offices. Construction is ongoing.

When complete, it is expected to improve the quality of radio and television in the state, help the broadcaster compete with national and international stations, and give local content and talent a better platform, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
