About the project
The NUJ Press Centre Auditorium is a hall at the Akwa Ibom State secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists on Information Drive, Uyo. It is named the Patience (Kemi) Umo Eno Auditorium, after the Governor's late wife.
Work on the auditorium started about 20 years earlier but was abandoned. Governor Pastor Umo Eno promised the union at its New Year thanksgiving service in 2025 that the state would complete it, and the Akwa Ibom State Government engaged a contractor to finish the job.
Governor Eno inaugurated the completed auditorium on 1 August 2025. At the same event he gave new official vehicles to members of the union's state executive.
The auditorium gives journalists in the state a modern venue for meetings, training, press briefings and public events. It is meant to support the media and strengthen ties between the government and the press, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
