About the project

Grace Estate is a housing estate along Ring Road 3 at the edge of the Uyo capital city area, on land in Ibiono Ibom and Ikono Local Government Areas. It was built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno.

The first phase has 236 two-bedroom semi-detached homes on a gated site of about 40.7 hectares, with about 3.1 kilometres of internal roads and 2.5 kilometres of drains. Governor Eno inaugurated the estate on 25 May 2024, at the first anniversary of his administration, and approved 264 more units to bring the total to 500.

Of the first homes, 150 were given free of charge to civil servants on grade levels 1 to 8. The houses were shared by a ticket draw, which was flagged off in July 2024, so that the allocation would be fair and open. The Governor also directed that a police station, a model primary school, a health centre, a mini market and recreation facilities be built in the estate.

The estate is meant to give low-income workers and other residents decent and affordable homes, ease the housing shortage in the capital and support organised growth along Ring Road 3, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
