For families and communities
A planned estate adds to the stock of housing in the capital in an orderly way. Solar facilities can give the homes a steadier power supply.
I'm glad to share that work on Ewet Luxury Gardens Estate in Uyo LGA is under way. An estate of 35 five-bedroom detached duplexes with solar facilities.

An estate of 35 five-bedroom detached duplexes with solar facilities.

Ewet Luxury Gardens Estate is a housing estate on Uruan Street in the Ewet area of Uyo, on land that used to hold the old timber market. It has 35 five-bedroom detached duplexes, each with a solar power system.
The Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno is building the estate through Western Legacy Investment Limited. Work started in July 2024. The site covers about 3.5 hectares and also has boys' quarters, walkways, parking, a security house, a 100-seat hall, offices and a central power system.
Unlike the state's free or subsidised housing for workers, the homes are meant for sale to buyers. A sales experience centre was opened for the estate in April 2026. The Governor gave the contractor firm deadlines to finish, and in April 2026 said the homes would soon be ready for occupants. Construction is ongoing.
The estate is meant to add quality homes to the capital, earn revenue for the state and support organised housing growth, in line with the ARISE Agenda.

Estate building creates work for artisans and demand for building materials. Solar power can lower what households spend on fuel for generators.
