About the project
The ARISE Compassionate Home in Mbak Ikot Ebo Village, Uyo Local Government Area, is a house built for a vulnerable resident under the Akwa Ibom State Government's humanitarian housing programme.
The home has been completed and handed over, and the beneficiary has moved in. It is a furnished home powered by solar energy for steady electricity, with an outside kitchen. The beneficiary also received a N500,000 business grant to start or grow a small trade.
The home is part of the ARISE Compassionate Homes Initiative of Governor Pastor Umo Eno. The programme builds two-bedroom furnished homes, with solar power and water, for poor and homeless citizens in their own villages across the wards of the state.
The initiative is meant to give vulnerable people safe and decent shelter and a way to earn a living, as part of the ARISE Agenda.
