About the project
The Ecological Remediation Project in Uyo is an erosion control job at a gully site in the state capital. The work includes concrete drains and other structures to stop the gully from spreading.
Uyo has several gully sites that threaten roads, homes and public buildings. Under Governor Pastor Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government has taken on a number of them, including the Uyo to Ewet ravine, and has ordered people living on unsafe land to move.
The remediation is meant to stop the loss of land, protect nearby homes and roads, and make the site safe for use again, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
