About the project

The Dakkada Luxury Estate is a low-density housing estate at Ibiaku Essiet, on about 171 hectares across Uruan and Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Areas, about 10 minutes from Victor Attah International Airport.

The estate was started under Governor Udom Emmanuel. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo flagged it off in September 2021, during the state's 34th anniversary, and its development was supervised by the Ministry of Lands and Water Resources, then headed by Pastor Umo Eno as Commissioner. A board was set up in 2022 to run it as a limited liability company.

The Umo Eno administration has continued the work. In November 2023 the Governor inspected the estate, where about 16.8 kilometres of internal roads were being built by eight contractors, and he directed that housing construction should begin. The state is now building the Executive and Legislators Quarters inside the estate: 64 five-bedroom duplexes, 32 for members of the State House of Assembly and 32 for members of the executive, with recreational facilities. In October 2026 the Housing Commissioner put this work at about 40 percent complete.

The estate was planned with broadband internet, a water treatment plant, a security system, a power substation, fire and police stations, a school, a church, a mall, a clinic, a civic centre, and central sewage and gas. It is expected to provide planned, serviced housing close to the airport and the state capital.
