About the project
The Ekim to Eyo Abasi Road is a 3-kilometre rural road connecting Ekim in Udung Uko Local Government Area to Eyo Abasi in neighbouring Oron LGA. The project includes streetlights.
The road is a state government project under Governor Umo Eno. In the 2025 state budget it forms one part of a 7.5-kilometre package, together with the 4.5-kilometre Edikor to Udu to Okobo road. The contractor is Evomec Construction Company. By early 2026 the road was in use and had improved rural access.
The road links villages in Udung Uko with Oron town, its markets and services. It is expected to ease transport, cut travel time and support local trade and farming.
The project is part of the ARISE Agenda plan to spread road works fairly across the five LGAs of the Oro nation: Oron, Okobo, Mbo, Udung Uko and Urue Offong/Oruko.
