About the project
This project is a 2.3-kilometre entrance road to the military cantonment at Mbiokporo in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Part of the road is a dual carriageway and part is a single carriageway. It leads up to the base of 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
The road is built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno. It is one of the state's direct labour and intervention road projects, which together cover about 64 kilometres across the state.
In June 2025 the road was listed among the direct labour roads under construction. In August 2025 the Governor said the state had already supported projects at the 2 Brigade cantonment and would keep working with the Army. A completion or handover date has not been announced.
A good entrance road is expected to make movement in and out of the cantonment faster and safer for soldiers, their families and nearby communities.
