About the project
The Ikot Obok to Nung Ukana to Ikot Obio Offong Road is a completed rural road in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It runs from Ikot Obok through Nung Ukana to Ikot Obio Offong.
The road joins three communities on one route. At Ikot Obok it meets the Obo Ntong to Ikot Obok road, and at Nung Ukana and Ikot Obio Offong it connects with the road that runs on to Abaukpo, Obontong and Enen Nsit. The Edebom to Ikot Obok road, still under construction, will also meet it at Ikot Obok.
Together these roads are meant to form a connected rural network, giving residents easier access to markets, schools and health care, and helping farmers move their produce.
The road is expected to cut travel time and transport costs, in line with the ARISE Agenda's aim of opening up rural communities.
