About the project
The Edikor to Udesi Road is a 4.5-kilometre road that starts at Edikor in Udung Uko Local Government Area and runs to Udesi in Mbo LGA. It links the two LGAs through farming communities. In state plans it is also named the Edikor to Udu to Okobo road.
The road is a state government project under Governor Umo Eno. It appears in the 2025 state budget with the 3-kilometre Ekim to Eyo Abasi road as a 7.5-kilometre package. The contractor is Evomec Construction Company. Work is ongoing and some sections are already motorable.
The road is meant to improve access for residents, traders and transport operators along the corridor. It is expected to make it easier to move farm produce to markets and to travel between Udung Uko and Mbo.
It is one of several roads under the ARISE Agenda aimed at a fair spread of projects across the Oro LGAs of Udung Uko, Mbo, Oron, Okobo and Urue Offong/Oruko.
