About the project
This project is the construction of 1.7 kilometres of internal roads, known as Roads 3 and 9, on the main campus of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) at Ikot Akpaden in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area. The roads are planned as earth roads with drains and a culvert.
The work follows a directive by Governor Pastor Umo Eno. On a tour of the main campus, he asked the Commissioners for Education and Works to start work on the university's internal roads at once.
Good roads inside the campus are meant to make it easier for students, staff and visitors to move between faculties, hostels and offices. The drains are meant to keep the roads usable in the rainy season.
The status of this work has not yet been confirmed.
