About the project

This project covers 13.13 kilometres of rural roads in Esit Eket Local Government Area. It takes in the Akpambiet, Edo, Edida Edo and Ebeekpe road, and the Ndon Edim to Idung Akpantuen road with spurs. It also includes the rehabilitation of the 1.7-kilometre Uquo Isi Edoho to Edo road.

The project was started under Governor Udom Emmanuel and appears in a 2018 list of his Esit Eket projects. Governor Umo Eno's administration continued it and lists it among the major road projects the state is funding.

The roads have been tarred and meet at a roundabout. Completion and commissioning have not yet been announced.

The roads are expected to link villages in the southern part of Esit Eket to each other and to Uquo, and to make it easier to move farm produce and reach schools and health centres.
