Fourteen homes for vulnerable residents.

There are 14 ARISE Compassionate Homes in Onna Local Government Area. These are free houses built by the Akwa Ibom State Government for poor and vulnerable residents, such as the elderly, widows and people living with disability, who live in very poor conditions.
Each Compassionate Home is a two-bedroom house, given free of charge. It comes with solar lighting, a solar-powered borehole and an external kitchen. Each beneficiary also receives a business grant of N500,000. Beneficiaries are selected at ward level, starting with those in the worst living conditions.
The scheme is Governor Pastor Umo Eno's flagship humanitarian programme under the ARISE Agenda. By April 2026, 355 homes had been completed and handed over across the State, with a target of 500 before the end of the Governor's first term.
The homes are meant to give vulnerable families safe and decent shelter, clean water and a small income to start again.
