About the project

This is a model primary health centre being built in Okobo Local Government Area by the Akwa Ibom State Government under the ARISE Agenda. It is one of the projects each local government area is receiving, alongside a model primary school.

Work is ongoing. Block walls and columns are up, with scaffolding in place.

The state is building model primary health centres across its local government areas to serve as the first stop for medical care in rural communities and to support the work of general hospitals. When finished, the Okobo centre is expected to give residents care for common illnesses, and for mothers and children, closer to home.
