A completed centre for older people in Itak, with a clinic and recreation facilities. It was commissioned on 7 March 2026 and named after Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The ARISE Senior Citizens Centre is a care centre for older people at Itak in Ikono Local Government Area. It sits on the medical corridor along the Uyo to Ikot Ekpene Road. It provides health care, recreation and social support for the elderly.
The project was conceived by the late wife of the Governor, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno. Governor Umo Eno laid its foundation on 26 January 2025, and the Akwa Ibom State Government paid for it. U&K Limited was the contractor. The foundation laying also began the fencing of the medical corridor site and the building of access roads to serve it.
The centre has a clinic, spaces for exercise, game rooms and dining facilities, and it is run by professional caregivers. In August 2025 the Governor directed that the site be expanded to 20 hectares and given a full health care wing.
The centre is meant to ease loneliness among older people and give them care and comfort in one place. It adds to other ARISE support for the elderly, such as monthly stipends and free enrolment in the state health insurance scheme. The Governor plans to build similar centres in the state's other two senatorial districts.
Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, commissioned the centre on 7 March 2026, during her visit to Akwa Ibom State for International Women's Day. It was named the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Senior Citizens Centre.

The centre gives older people a place set aside for their care and company.
A centre like this can employ carers, cleaners, cooks and health staff. It can also ease the cost that families bear when they care for an elderly relative alone.
