For families and communities
If built, the road is meant to join several Okobo villages that are still served by poor earth roads. It would make it easier for families to reach schools, health centres and the council headquarters.

The Ekeya - Ebighi Odu - Ube - Nda Atiabong - Uruting Road is a proposed rural road in Okobo Local Government Area. It is meant to link the Okobo communities of Ekeya, Ebighi Odu, Ube, Nda Atiabong and Uruting, which are still served by earth roads.
The road is listed in the 2026 approved budget of the Akwa Ibom State Government. No contract has been awarded yet, and Okobo indigenes are appealing to Governor Umo Eno to award it. No contractor, length or start date has been announced.
If built, the road is expected to make it easier for families in these villages to reach schools, health centres, local markets and the council headquarters. Farmers in the inland villages are meant to get a quicker way to move their produce to market.
The road fits the rural development pillar of the ARISE Agenda, which aims to open up rural communities across the state.

A built road along this route could help farmers carry oil palm, cassava and yam out of the villages, and let buyers and vehicles come in during the rains. This depends on the contract being awarded and the work being done.
