About the project
The Nto Ndang to Nto Ekpu Road is a rural road in Obot Akara Local Government Area. It includes two bridges of 15 metres span each. It links the communities of Nto Ndang and Nto Ekpu.
The Akwa Ibom State Government is delivering the road. Governor Umo Eno flagged it off in February 2024 at Usaka Annang, together with the 11.71-kilometre Abiakpo Ikot Otu to Atan Ibong to Usaka Annang Road. Work is ongoing.
The road and its bridges, with their drainage, are meant to give these villages a reliable link to the rest of the LGA. They are expected to make it easier for farmers to take produce to market and for people to reach schools and health care, including the new Model Primary Health Centre approved for Usaka. The project is part of the ARISE Agenda drive to connect rural communities.
