About the project

The Model Primary Health Centre at Usaka Annang is a planned health facility for the Usaka community in Obot Akara Local Government Area. It is meant to bring basic health care closer to Usaka Annang and nearby villages.

Governor Umo Eno announced the health centre on 22 February 2024 at Group School, Usaka Annang. He made the promise during the flag-off of the 11.71-kilometre internal road network in Usaka, which comes with two 15-metre span bridges. He said the contract for the clinic would be awarded so that it could be built at the same time as the road. The project is a state government project under the ARISE Agenda.

Once it is completed and operating, the centre is designed to offer basic consultations and treatment, maternal and child health care, immunisation, health education, early detection of illness and referral of cases that need higher care.

It is expected to cut the distance families travel for care, and to work alongside the new Usaka roads, which make it easier to reach the facility.
