About the project

The Model Primary Health Centre at Odot is a primary healthcare facility in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is one of the model primary health centres the state government is building across the 31 local government areas.

The Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Umo Eno delivered the centre. The contractor has not been published. It was commissioned on Wednesday, 12 June 2024 by Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, who represented the Governor. The centre is completed.

It has a pharmacy, a laboratory, a steady power supply and staff quarters. Officials said it is meant to bring quality care closer to residents of Nsit Atai and nearby communities and to help cut infant and maternal deaths.

Since it opened, the centre has hosted the launch of the 2025 Immunisation Plus Days and maternal and child health outreach for World Breastfeeding Week. This shows it is in use. The centre fits the health pillar of the ARISE Agenda.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The centre matters most for pregnant women, children and elderly people who used to travel farther for care.

For work and income

Care closer to home means families spend less time and transport money to reach a clinic. People who are treated early can return to farming, trading and other work sooner.
