About the project

The Ukpana to Akpabom to Ikwe Road is a road of about 6.97 kilometres with a 30-metre span bridge. It links communities in Onna and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.

The road was built by the Akwa Ibom State Government. By October 2024 it was finished and listed among strategic roads due for inauguration by Governor Pastor Umo Eno, alongside the Mkpat Enin to Ikot Ubo to Ikot Ntot to Nkikara Road.

The road and bridge are expected to give communities on both sides a dependable link across the two LGAs, ease the movement of farm produce to markets, and make schools and health centres easier to reach. The route also connects with the planned Ikot Ebiere to Ikot Edor to Ikot Iko Ibon to Okom corridor.

It forms part of the rural roads drive of the ARISE Agenda.
