About the project

The Ukam to Ikot Etefia to Ikot Ekop to Ikot Obiokoi to Ikot Abia Road is a rural road of about 6.9 kilometres, entirely within Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The road is being built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno. It is listed in the 2026 state budget under the Ministry of Works and Fire Service.

On 19 August 2025 a team led by the Governor's Senior Special Assistant on Research and Documentation visited the road and reported that construction was ongoing. No contractor or completion date has been confirmed.

The road is expected to open up farming communities, ease the movement of farm produce and boost local trade.
