About the project
The project is the construction of the 1.8-kilometre Afaha Ube Itam Road, together with works on the roads and grounds around Itam Market in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Itam Market, also known as Etagha Itam Market, is one of the main trading points in Itu and a major source of revenue for the council.
The road is meant to give traders, buyers and goods vehicles easier access to the market and to the Afaha Ube community. Better roads around the market are also expected to ease traffic and make the area cleaner and safer to use.
This project is separate from the work on internal roads and a trailer park inside Itam Market. Details of the contractor, start date and progress are not yet available.
