About the project

The Amanyam community roads are a 6.475-kilometre road network in Amanyam, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. The route runs from the Aba Road axis through Ibong Ikot Akan to Mbiaso, passing communities including Ifuho, Ibong, Ikot Udoe and Mbiaso.

The road is a single carriageway, eight metres wide. It was built with 150-millimetre compacted sub-base and base courses and a 50-millimetre wearing course. It has six culverts and 12.95 kilometres of side drains.

The project was started by the previous administration. The administration of Governor Pastor Umo Eno revalidated it and saw it through to completion.

The road gives access to the Comprehensive Health Centre and links the area to the Ifuho Road axis. It is expected to make travel, trade and access to health care easier for the communities along the route.

Governor Umo Eno commissioned the road in September 2026, as one of 39 projects opened to mark the 39th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.
