About the project

The Ntan Ekere to Mbiabong Edem Adik to Anan Road is a 5.17km rural road in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area. It links the communities of Ntan Ekere, Mbiabong Edem Adik and Anan.

It is one of the rural roads taken on under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). RAAMP is a partnership between the Akwa Ibom State Government, the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD). It builds rural roads and markets to help farmers get their produce out. The current status of this road has not been confirmed.

When complete, the road is expected to give farmers an all-season route to markets, cut the cost of moving goods, and make it easier for residents to reach schools and health centres. Rural roads like this are part of the ARISE Agenda's push to open up farming communities.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The road is meant to give three farming communities a dependable route in and out. Better rural access can help families reach clinics, schools and markets in the rest of Ibiono Ibom.

For work and income

RAAMP roads are planned around farm produce. This one is meant to help farmers carry crops to market, which can cut losses after harvest and the cost of transport.
