About the project

The Ikot Akpan and Ikot Uneke corridor is a 1.28km rural road in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area. It serves the communities of Ikot Akpan and Ikot Uneke.

It is one of the rural roads listed for Ibiono Ibom under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). RAAMP is a partnership between the Akwa Ibom State Government, the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD). Its current status has not been confirmed.

Though short, the link is meant to give farmers and residents an all-season route out of their communities, so they can move crops to market and reach schools and health centres more easily. Rural roads like this are part of the ARISE Agenda's push to open up farming communities.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

A short corridor like this is meant to close a gap between two neighbouring villages. It can make it easier for people in Ikot Akpan and Ikot Uneke to visit each other and to reach nearby services.

For work and income

The corridor is intended to connect farms in the two villages to the wider road network. That can let buyers and vehicles come closer to where the crops are grown.
