About the project

Grace Estate is a public housing estate that spans Ibiono Ibom and Ikono Local Government Areas, along the Ring Road 3 corridor on the edge of Uyo. It has 236 two-bedroom apartments and was built mainly for junior civil servants.

The estate was an inherited project. Governor Umo Eno's administration completed it, and the Governor inaugurated it in May 2024.

Of the 236 units, 150 were set aside free of charge for civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 08. The houses were allocated through a public draw. Each applicant paid a N50,000 expression of interest fee, and the winning tickets were drawn in public to keep the process fair.

Plans for the estate also include a police station, a model primary school, a health centre, a mini market and recreation facilities.

The estate is meant to give low-income workers a decent home close to the state capital. It is part of the housing drive of the ARISE Agenda.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The estate is meant to give public workers decent homes within reach of their offices. Stable housing helps families settle and plan for schooling and other needs.

For work and income

Completing an inherited estate puts earlier public spending to use. New households in the area can also bring customers for shops, markets and transport between Ibiono Ibom and Ikono.
