About the project

This is a 3.63-kilometre road that links Mbikpong Ikot Edim, Afaha Ikot Osom and Ikot Akpaedu in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.

The Akwa Ibom State Government is building the road by direct labour under Governor Umo Eno. It was listed in June 2025 among the state's direct labour and intervention road projects. Concrete drains are being built along the road. No start date has been published. Completion and commissioning have not been announced.

The road is expected to give the three communities an all-season link to each other and to nearby roads, and to help residents reach markets, schools and health centres.
