About the project
This is the construction of a model primary health centre at Efa, in southern Etinan Local Government Area. Work is ongoing.
The centre is part of Governor Pastor Umo Eno's plan to build model primary health centres across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State. The aim is to have at least one fully working, well-equipped primary health centre in every council area.
When complete, the centre is meant to give people in Efa and nearby villages care close to home, including maternal and child health, immunisation and treatment of common illnesses. It is expected to reduce the need to travel to Etinan town or Uyo for basic care.
The project supports the ARISE Agenda's goal of better health care at the grassroots.
