About the project
This is one of the road projects now under construction in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The name and route of this road have not been made public. There are four road projects in Essien Udim in all.
The road is being built by the Akwa Ibom State Government. Work is ongoing, and a paver and trucks are laying asphalt on the road surface. The contractor and length have not been made public.
When finished, the road is meant to give communities in Essien Udim a paved, all-season link to markets, schools and health centres. It is expected to cut travel time and ease the movement of farm produce, as part of the ARISE Agenda aim of opening up rural communities.
