Construction of a 2.7km road. A road roller is working on fresh asphalt, with workers on the surface.

The Nto Obio Akpan - Ikot Obong - Uruakpan Road is a 2.7-kilometre rural road in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It runs from Nto Obio Akpan through Ikot Obong to Uruakpan.
The road is being built by the Akwa Ibom State Government. Work is ongoing, and asphalt is being laid and rolled on the road surface. The contractor and start date have not been made public.
When finished, the road is meant to give the three communities a paved link to each other and to the Urua Akpan market area. Farmers and traders should be able to move goods to market more easily, and pupils and patients should reach schools and health centres faster.
The road is expected to cut travel time and ease movement in the rainy season. It is part of the ARISE Agenda aim of opening up rural communities. It has not yet been commissioned.

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.
A paved road can make daily trips to school, church, clinic and market easier for people in the three communities, in the dry season and in the rains.
Most people in Essien Udim are farmers who sell their produce in local markets, and Urua Akpan is one of the three main markets. A better road on this route can help them move produce to market with less damage to vehicles and goods.
