About the project
The Model Primary Health Centre, Okoroete, is a new primary health centre planned for Okoroete, the headquarters of Eastern Obolo Local Government Area. It is part of Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda promise of a model health centre and a model primary school in every local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
Work is set to begin. No contractor or start date has been announced.
The existing Okoroete Health Centre has been used as a makeshift council secretariat, which has left the community short of proper health space. The new centre is meant to give residents of Okoroete and nearby coastal villages quality primary care close to home, including care for mothers and children, and to cut long trips to distant hospitals.
