A model primary school built on the site of Holy Child Convent Primary School. The old school was abandoned and unsafe. The new school has equipped classrooms, a library, a computer centre, a clinic and staff quarters for teachers. The school is completed and fully functional.
The Holy Child Convent Model Primary School in Abak has been newly constructed and officially inaugurated as part of the State Government’s education transformation initiative.
Previously in a state of disrepair and unsuitable for effective learning, the school has been redeveloped into a modern, state-of-the-art educational facility designed to provide a conducive and inspiring environment for pupils.
The upgraded Model Primary School features modern classrooms, a fully equipped library, an ICT laboratory, an assembly hall, a sick bay, staff quarters, a playground, and other essential learning facilities built to contemporary standards.
The project reflects the State Government’s commitment to strengthening the public education system and improving access to quality foundational learning infrastructure across Local Government Areas.
The school was officially inaugurated on March 22, 2025, marking its completion and readiness for full academic use.

Impact Analysis
An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.
For families and communities
Children can now learn in comfort on a site that was once abandoned and unsafe. The library is meant to encourage reading, the computer centre introduces pupils to ICT early, and the clinic gives basic health care inside the school.
For work and income
The staff quarters can help make sure teachers are available, and early ICT training gives pupils skills they can build on later.
Background
The school buildings had been left in a poor state and had been taken over by criminals before the rebuild.
