About the project
This is a model primary school at Ikot Ibritam, the headquarters of Oruk Anam Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State. It is one of the model primary schools the state government is building in all 31 local government areas.
The Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Umo Eno delivered the school. The contractor has not been published. It was commissioned on 23 May 2025 as part of activities marking the Governor's second year in office. The Governor was represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong. The school is completed.
The school has an ICT laboratory, a library, a sick bay, staff quarters, a standard football field and playground, a water supply system and solar-powered electricity. It also has modern classrooms.
The school is expected to give pupils in Oruk Anam a better place to learn and to help raise the standard of primary education in the area. It fits the education pillar of the ARISE Agenda and the Governor's plan to deliver one project in each local government area.
