Construction of a 16km road with two bridges. The road will open up communities along the route across three Local Government Areas. It is expected to help farmers move produce to markets and to reconnect communities on both sides of the bridges. Work was ongoing in 2025.

This is a 16-kilometre road with two bridges, each with a 20-metre span. It runs through Ikot Ekang, Obio Obom, Ikot Ekpat, Abak Itenghe, Uruk Ata Nsidung, Midim and Ikot Edong. It starts in Abak Local Government Area and links it with neighbouring Local Government Areas, including Etim Ekpo.
The Akwa Ibom State Government is building the road under Governor Umo Eno. State officials inspected it in October 2025 during the Abak project tracking tour, when work was ongoing. Part of the route has already been surfaced. Work is ongoing.
The road and its bridges are meant to open up farming communities that have long had poor links to Abak town and to each other. Once complete, they are expected to make it easier to move farm produce, reach markets, schools and health centres, and travel between the LGAs on the route. The project is part of the ARISE Agenda drive to connect rural communities.

The bridges will help people in these communities reconnect with their relatives across the state. When finished, the road is also expected to make it easier to reach essential services along the route.
The road is expected to support trade and other business along the corridor, most of all the movement of farm produce from these communities to the markets.
