Christ the King Model Primary School is a public primary school on Wellington Bassey Way, near Government House in Uyo. The Akwa Ibom State Government rebuilt it as the pilot model school of Governor Pastor Umo Eno's administration.
In July 2023, after inspecting the old school, the Governor declared a state of emergency on primary education and ordered the repair and upgrade of public primary schools across the state. Christ the King was chosen as the first model. The plan covered rebuilt classrooms, learning materials, solar lighting, running water and staff quarters.
The rebuilt school has improved classrooms and audio-visual learning facilities, with a focus on ICT, science, mathematics and the arts. It was commissioned in May 2024, together with Government Model Primary School, Ewet Offot.
The model is being repeated across the three senatorial districts and the ten federal constituencies. It is meant to give pupils a better place to learn, raise enrolment and improve results in public schools, in line with the education pillar of the ARISE Agenda.

As a public school, it gives families in the city centre a good option without private fees. Children who learn well early are better prepared for later study and work.
